USNS Comfort Prepares For Deployment To New York City

Naval ship, the USNS Comfort, is expected to depart from Virginia for New York City where it will serve as a hospital for non-COVID-19 patients so other area hospitals can focus their attention on the coronavirus. U.S. Army leaders said Thursday that two field hospitals are on their way to New York City and will be able to begin treating patients at the Javits Center on Monday. (March 26) President Trump announced that an additional 600,000 N95 masks will be delivered to New York City hospitals to aid in the coronavirus fight. FEMA sent hundreds of ambulances to help with record-breaking 911 calls in New York City, and temporary hospitals are opening as the city wages war on the virus.
