US communities with highest rate of death from COVID-19


33 people died in Dawson, Georgia, during the height of the pandemic. The 100 counties with the highest rate of death are rural, poor and have limited access to quality health care.

Eleven local authorities are to be placed into Scotland's highest level of coronavirus restrictions.

The areas will enter Level 4 of the country's COVID-19 measures from 6pm on Friday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced.

The new restrictions mean all non-essential businesses will all close but schools will remain open.

She said they will lift after 21 days.
