US astronauts prepare for historic mission


The two astronauts who will test drive SpaceX's brand new rocketship are classmates, friends, veteran spacefliers married to veteran spacefliers and fathers of young sons. (May 22)

SpaceX's Crew Dragon is scheduled to return from the International Space Station on Aug. 2 with NASA astronauts on board.
The Mayor of Mobile, AL, Sandy Stimpson (R), joins Hallie Jackson as his city prepares for a direct hit from Hurricane Sally. Stimpson says past experiences have prepared them for the storm, and that the city is using an array of 12,000 live cameras to track damage in "real-time." Aired on 09/15/2020.
New Orleans residents and visitors prepared for a lot of rain and possible power outages as Marco, which became a hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico Sunday, approaches. Tropical Storm Laura is also headed toward the same part of the U.S. coast. (Aug. 23)
The first astronauts to ride a SpaceX capsule into orbit splashed down back to earth on Sunday in the Gulf of Mexico.

NASA pilots Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken stayed on the space station for two months. 

The mission made history as it was the first time a private company, Elon Musk's SpaceX, successfully sent humans into orbit.
