Trump signs "Phase One" of limited trade deal with China

President Trump signed "Phase One" of a trade deal with Chinese officials today. Yahoo Finance anchor and reporter Akiko Fujita joins CBSN to explain how tariffs have affected the U.S. and whether or not this is the end of the trade war.


During a meeting with the President of Ecuador, President Trump discussed Roger Stone's sentencing, trade deals, and the New Hampshire primaries. 
The Prime Minister has used a speech at the Old Royal Naval College to make clear he is seeking a looser trading arrangement - saying there was no need for the UK to follow Brussels' rules any more.

For the EU - it's chief negotiator, Michel Barnier made clear that approach would lead to restricted access to the European market.

Mr Johnson said if he wasn't offered a deal similar to the one negotiated with the EU by Canada, he would be prepared to walk away when the Brexit transition period expires at the end of this year.

After leaving the European Union last Friday, the United Kingdom is now in a transition period until the end of the year - as the long-term future relationship with the EU is negotiated. Today the prime minister made his first major speech on Brexit, since the general election, and at the same time the lead negotiator for the EU, Michel Barnier, outlined his position.
