President Donald Trump has asked national security adviser John Bolton to resign, noting that he "strongly disagreed with many of his suggestions as did others in the administration."
"I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House," Trump tweeted. "I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning." The surprise announcement came just an hour before a briefing that the White House earlier said Bolton would attend.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he asked Bolton to resign after he "disagreed with many of his suggestions." Bolton had clashed with other top administration officials, including Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
