Surfer escapes close encounter with shark in Australia
A heart-pounding drone video shows a pro surfer's close encounter with an 8-foot shark. Matt Wilkinson was paddling off the coast of eastern Australia when the shark suddenly swam up behind him. Wilkinson said he heard a splash but couldn't see anything, and could not believe his eyes when he saw the footage.
One surfer had an uncomfortably close encounter with a great white shark. Matt Wilkinson's brush with danger was caught by a drone monitoring the waters in Australia. He's a professional surfer so he says he's usually able to detect when a predator is nearby. The drone operator says he didn't know if he would be able to warn Wilkinson in time. Luckily, something seemed to spook the shark and it swam away. Inside Edition Digital's Mara Montalbano has more.
