Southern Calif. beaches prep for holiday weekend


Beaches in Southern California are gradually reopening ahead of the Memorial Day holiday weekend, as authorities in the region ease restrictions put in place during the coronavirus pandemic. (May 21)

Gov. Gavin Newsom's administration has approved plans by Huntington Beach and two other Southern California communities to reopen beaches. Newsom ordered beaches in Orange County closed last week after crowds swarmed the shorelines. (May 5)
