Sen. Doug Jones: Vote To Convict Trump A 'Vote Of Conscience'

Description:

Doug Jones, in his first interview since casting his votes to convict Trump, said that he thought about his children and grandchildren when he voted to remove Trump from office and how history would look upon him.

Sen. Chuck Schumer sent President Trump a letter asking him to invoke the Defense Production Act. The senator tells Chris Hayes about the written response he received from Trump on Thursday.
A Senate committee recently voted to authorize a subpoena for Blue Star strategies, a company that's connected to Ukrainian gas company Burisma and Hunter Biden. One America's John Hines caught up with Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) to learn more.
On today's What America's Thinking, a new Hill-HarrisX finds President Trump's job approval on handling the coronavirus is steady, while still receiving high marks on the economy and stimulating jobs. Public Opinion Analyst and Senior Fellow at AEI, Karlyn Bowman, and Deputy Politics Editor at Salon.com, Sophia Tesfaye, join Hill TV to discuss Trump's approval numbers. This survey was conducted online within the United States from April 02-03, 2020 among 933 registered voters by HarrisX. The sampling margin of error of this poll is plus or minus 3.21 percentage points. The results reflect a nationally representative sample of registered voters. Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, income, political party, and education where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population.
Krystal and Saagar talk about Biden's suggestion to move the Democratic convention to August, and the possibility of a virtual Biden, Trump debate.
