A record number of people have already cast their ballots in early voting for the US election 2020. In some areas, the large early turnout and technical glitches have led to long waiting lines. That has sparked a controversy in states like Georgia over whether officials are actively trying to make it harder for some people to vote. But its not just voter suppression clouding this election. Looming large among them: The corona pandemic. That's because many of the volunteer workers who usually help make sure the elections run smoothly, are the ones most vulnerable to the virus and many of them have decided to sit this election out.
LaTosha Brown, co-founder of Black Voters Matter explains the voter suppression that Black voters have faced throughout the years, from activists fighting for the right to vote in 1965's civil rights marches in Selma, Alabama to the long lines in 2020's presidential primaries in Georgia.
