Report: Migrant kids under 2 separated at border


The report says at least 18 migrant infants and toddlers were taken away from their parents at the border for between 20 days and half a year.

The Associated Press reports migrant children are being neglected at a Texas border facility near El Paso. According to the report, children are not being provided with adequate food, water or proper sanitation. CBS News correspondent Mireya Villareal has been covering the situation on the border and joins CBSN to discuss.
After reports of widespread neglect of migrant children at a Texas CBP station, Rep. Veronica Escobar said nearly all of the kids have been removed.
Migrant children are facing harsh conditions at the southern border as many shelters and border patrol facilities are reaching full capacity, forcing children to sleep on concrete benches or outside.
