Peru economy: COVID-19 puts millions of people out of work

Description:

Peru's economy has shrunk by more than 30 percent as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nearly seven million people have lost their jobs.
The government is trying to enforce measures to control the virus, but people are breaking the rules as they desperately try to make ends meet.
Al Jazeera's Mariana Sanchez reports from Lima.

At least 30,000 people have now died from COVID-19 in Peru.
That is one of the highest death rates per head of population in the world.
But there is concern that the number of fatalities could be significantly higher than official figures suggest.
