Owner says ex-officer, victim both worked at nightclub


Derek Chauvin faced 18 complaints in his 19-year career with the Minneapolis police, according to police records and was disciplined for two of them.

It is being revealed today that George Floyd and the officer who knelt on his neck until he died used to work at the same Minneapolis nightclub. Police surrounded the Officer Derek Chauvin's house last night as protests raged on, and today he was brought up on murder and manslaughter charges. Inside Edition spoke with Maya Santamaria, the owner of the now-closed El Nuevo Rodeo Club. She says that she remembers Chauvin having a "real short fuse."
The first hearing of the former police officer charged with murdering George Floyd took place on Monday. Other three ex-officers face charges of aiding and abetting murder.
New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea says about six incidents were being investigated by the department's internal affairs bureau, including one where an officer pointed a gun at protesters. (June 1)
