Oregon Decriminalizes Drugs, 4 More States Legalize Recreational Marijuana

In five states, marijuana was on the ballot this election year.
And in five states, marijuana initiatives were passed.
For recreational use it passed in New Jersey, Montana, Arizona, and South Dakota. For medicinal purposes it was passed in Mississippi.
In Oregon, voters came out in an overwhelming majority on Election Day to approve a historic bill decriminalizing the possession of hard drugs, including heroin and cocaine.
It's a first of its kind plan to drastically lower drug related arrests, opting for alternative treatment rather than punishment.
