Mysterious pneumonia outbreak hits China


Health officials say as of Sunday, 59 people in Wuhan, China, were being treated for the mysterious respiratory illness.

One of the unexpected side effects of the coronavirus outbreak in China has been a dramatic drop in carbon emissions.

The largest coronavirus outbreak outside mainland China is not in a country, but on a cruise ship.

It's been more than a week since the Diamond Princess went into lockdown, after a previous passenger tested positive for the virus after disembarking.

With almost 500 out of 3,700 people on board tested, 174 people have now tested positive for coronavirus. Those still on board are in quarantine for another week.

But it's not just the Diamond Princess.
As the coronavirus outbreak expands, the arts world is taking a hit.
Many Hollywood movies, fine art exhibitions and musical concerts have been cancelled or delayed.

Al Jazeera's Scott Heidler reports from Bangkok.
Streets were deserted and residents were warned to stay inside in Codogno, Lombardy, Saturday, February 22. Six people in the town have tested positive for coronavirus. Two people have died from the virus in the Lombardy region.
