Motorola Razr first impressions by the CNET office

We asked 10 CNET employees to give us their first impressions on the new Motorola Razr. Some loved the nostalgia of a flip phone. While others questioned the capabilities of the 2020 Razr reboot.

The Motorola Razr is one of a handful of foldable phones you can actually buy along with the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Royole Flexpai and Huawei Mate X. But it's the first to bridge the void between a modern Android smartphone and the familiar clamshell design of the past. I spent a week with the Motorola Razr. It is the most personal phone I've ever used. The Razr survived snow, two airplane trips, half a dozen cab rides, a hotel, various pockets, a backpack and a house with a cat. But as much as I'm enamored with the $1,500 flip phone, I still have anxiety about its durability long-term.
We put the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr through a series of drops onto concrete to see how tough they are and to work out if you'll need a case for your foldable phone.
We compare the original Motorola Razr V3 to the new Motorola Razr to see how much has changed with the iconic flip phone.
Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Marcus Spears react to WR A.J. Green being franchise tagged by the Bengals, then discuss how Green would pair with QB Joe Burrow if Cincinnati takes him with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
