More than 100 arrested after massive looting in Chicago
At least 400 Chicago police officers struggled to contain looting that erupted after allegedly false information about a police-involved shooting on Sunday.
Police in Belarus have arrested more than 600 people after a massive rally of more than 100,000 in the capital Minsk, according to the interior ministry. For the past four weeks, protesters have been demanding that long-time authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko step down after last month's election. He claimed victory, but his opponents and many observers say the vote was rigged. More than a dozen whales were found dead after being stranded on New Zealand's North Island, the country's Department of Conservation said on Sunday. The U.S. recorded more than 79,000 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday. It comes amid fresh feelings of pain from health care workers and a Idaho hospital announcing it has temporarily stopped admitting children. They were taking part in yet another mass demonstration to demand President Alexander Lukashenko step down. Lukashenko's opponents defied a police ban to stage a massive anti-government rally on the strongman's birthday. Opposition sources estimated some 100,000 protesters marched through the Belarusian capital. Many of the participants carried placards mocking Lukashenko, who turned 66 on Sunday.
