Michigan relaxing more virus restrictions

Michigan's governor is relaxing coronavirus restrictions to lift a ban on nonessential medical and dental procedures, reopen retail shops and let residents gather in groups of 10 or less. (May 21)

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee says that ten additional counties in the state can apply to move to the second phase of the state's plan to end restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. (May 19)
Vice President Mike Pence says the Trump administration is "watching very carefully what's taking place in South America, including in Brazil," as it weighs imposing additional travel restrictions because of the coronavirus pandemic. (May 20)
A French health official has warned the virus threat remains high as the government plans to begin easing restrictions next month.
President Emmanuel Macron says the lockdown measures will be lifted in small stages from May 11 but there are concerns about how this will work.
