Michigan gov. says indoor dining could reopen soon


Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said Wednesday that Michigan restaurants should be able to reopen for indoor dining on Feb. 1 if metrics like the number of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations continue to trend in the right direction. (Jan. 13)

During a press conference, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the state will be following the new CDC guidelines that if after five days there is no stabilization in hospitalizations he will clamp down on indoor dining. Aired on 12/07/2020.
Hospitals across New York were ordered Monday to add 25% more beds to handle growing numbers of coronavirus patients, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo warned he would curtail indoor dining if hospitalizations keep rising. (Dec. 7)

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced an update on COVID-19 restrictions, including an end to indoor dining in New York City as of Monday. "The federal government must provide relief to these bars and restaurants," Cuomo said. Watch his remarks.
