Michigan flooding forces thousands to evacuate


Floodwaters that overtook dams and forced the evacuation of about 10,000 people in Central Michigan now threaten a Dow Superfund site and downstream communities. (May 21)

Wildfires ravaged the Florida Panhandle, Wednesday, May 6, forcing nearly 500 people to evacuate from their homes.
People living along two mid-Michigan lakes and parts of a river have been evacuated following several days of heavy rain that produced flooding and put pressure on dams in the area. (May 19)
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has ordered that students in the state not return to K-12 school buildings the rest of the academic year due to the coronavirus pandemic and instead will learn remotely (April 2)
Michigan State University is using a commercial oven to re-sterilize N95 masks. (April 6)
