Manitoba hints at new COVID-19 restrictions for private gatherings


Manitoba's health minister strongly hinted that further COVID-19 restrictions are coming, saying 'what we are doing is not yet working.' New cases in that province and in B.C. are being linked to private gatherings. 


During a news conference on Sunday, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee issued sweeping new COVID-19 restrictions on bars, restaurants and gatherings.

Demonstrators hit the streets in Italy to protest against the country's new Covid-19 measures that impose restrictions on bars and restaurants. The government is also forcing gyms and movie theaters to temporarily shut down to combat the rising coronavirus cases.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has issued a new stay-at-home advisory following a surge in COVID-19 cases in the city.

The measures will take effect Monday and last for 30 days.

The action follows an Illinois statewide ban on indoor restaurant dining that was imposed late last month.

The decisions are a further blow to the already struggling restaurant industry.
