Lion statues outside New York Public Library wear face masks


The New York Public Library's iconic lion statues, Patience and Fortitude, are now wearing 3-foot face masks. The library will begin opening some locations on July 13, with face masks mandatory for patrons - and the lions are setting example to remind New Yorkers to stay safe.

Vice President Mike Pence on Wednesday evening tweeted, and then deleted, a photo showing a large group of President Donald Trump's reelection campaign staff not wearing face masks or social distancing, two recommendations of the coronavirus task force that Pence leads.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and three other former California governors joined Gov. Gavin Newsom in a public service announcement aimed at promoting the use of face masks to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Boris Johnson has stressed the importance of wearing face coverings in shops and said the government will make an announcement on the subject in the next few days.

The Prime Minister was visiting an ambulance centre in Central London - where he again wore a mask.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order requiring most residents of counties with 20 or more coronavirus cases to wear a face mask when in public.
