Admiral Brett Giroir joins Andrea Mitchell to discuss the possible new CDC quarantine guidelines and the presidential transition. Adm. Giroir says of the new guidelines that "the accumulating data suggests that we don't have to wait 14 days," and that 10 days of quarantine may suffice, adding that the CDC is "not going to advise anything that isn't safe." He also tells Andrea, "I have personally been contacted by several members of the public health team on the new administration, informally. We have not had formal transitions." Aired on 11/25/2020.
Health secretary Matt Hancock has urged caution with regard to a potential COVID-19 vaccine, telling MPs "we don't have one yet."

He was updating the House of Commons following yesterday's news that trials of a vaccine by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer had exceeded expectations.

The injection appears to provide protection to 90 percent of those given it, raising hopes that the end of the pandemic could be in sight.
