Janney bemoans Gerwig director snub

Allison Janney says the Academy's failure to give Greta Gerwig a nomination for directing "Little Women" is "just hugely wrong." (Jan. 14)

No women were nominated in the Best Director category, even though there were women behind critical favorites like "Little Women" and "Hustlers."
Only one actor of color was nominated this year: Cynthia Erivo, who portrayed Harriet Tubman.
The nominees for the 92nd Academy Awards were revealed Monday morning. No women were nominated in the best director category, and Robert De Niro and Jennifer Lopez didn't receive nominations for their performances in "The Irishman" and "Hustlers" respectively. DeMarco Morgan and Suzanne Marques of CBS Los Angeles discuss the nominations with Rebecca Sun of the Hollywood Reporter.
"Joker" got the most nods this year, but the Academy snubbed some high-profile performances.
