It's time for houses of worship to open: Trump

The president demanded governors allow churches, synagogues and mosques to hold in-person services and threatened to override state leaders if they didn't.

US president says he will ‘override' governors who will not identify houses of worship as ‘essential'
Pres. Trump calls on governors to allow houses of worship to reopen this weekend.

"If there's any question, they're going to have to call me—but they're not going to be successful in that call."
California state officials issued new guidelines for places of worship to reopen. The DOJ had sent a letter to the state last week warning that the existing reopening plans discriminated against churches. Under the new guidelines staff members and congregants will need to be screened for symptoms and have their temperature taken before entering the building. The capacity will vary based on the size of the building and all are advised to wear masks. Aired on 05/25/2020.
As some houses of worship prepare to resume public services, experts warn the risk of worshippers contracting COVID-19 remains high.
