'It is not even close': See Burnett's response after Trump criticized German Covid-19 deaths

Description:

President Donald Trump criticized Germany's handling of Covid-19 after the nation had a record number of deaths. However, the US had four times as many Covid-19 deaths per 100,000 residents.

Although the UK has reported its highest number of COVID-19 deaths in a single day, the deaths actually occurring each day are still not as high as they were last spring.

Deaths can occur days or weeks before they are officially announced.

The number is especially volatile at the moment since we had a number of bank holidays over the Christmas and New Year period.

Sky's Ed Conway explains the data.
Public Services and Procurement Minister Anita Anand said the price of vaccines is not a deciding factor in the government's efforts to obtain COVID-19 vaccines.
A host of European leaders and top French officials rushed into isolation on Thursday after President Emmanuel #Macron tested positive for #Covid-19, upending political agendas across the continent. Macron, 42, was tested after the "onset of the first symptoms" and will now self isolate for seven days in accordance with national regulations, his office said in a statement.
Italy, one of the countries worst hit by Covid-19, will be placed under new restrictions over the Christmas and New Year periods, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced late Friday.
