Republican and Democratic members of Congress condemned a pro-Trump mob on Jan. 6 after it breached the U.S. Capitol during a joint session of Congress.
Trump supporters interrupted a joint session of Congress to certify President-elect Joe Biden's victory by storming the Capitol for hours. Lawmakers took cover and one woman who was shot died.

Police have confirmed that a woman who was shot earlier during the Capitol riots has died due to her injuries.

Earlier today supporters massed outside Congress - and then forced their way in - leading to the suspension of the session which was due to confirm Joe Biden as the next President.
