A confrontation at a Spokane, Wash., grocery store went viral after a customer refused to wear a mask, claiming he had a medical condition. The argument escalated after a Yoke's Fresh Market employee appeared to put his hands on the customer and throw his cellphone. The incident is under investigation by the store's corporate management. Black voters on both sides of the aisle say the civility and inclusivity of the two presidential candidates is on their minds as they prepare to head to the polls before Election Day. (Oct. 23) The global death toll from COVID-19 has crossed one million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University (JHU), but the World Health Organization (WHO) says the actual number of deaths is likely to be much higher.
Some 1,000,555 people across the world have now died from the virus, data from JHU showed on Tuesday.
About a fifth of the world's coronavirus deaths have been in the United States.
The daily death toll is on the decline there, but there has been another surge in new infections, and with it fears of a second wave.
