FBI says shooting at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi was terrorism-related

Naval Air Station Corpus Christi is on lockdown after reports of an active shooter. Law enforcement officials say a man drove up to the main gate at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and shot a security officer before he was then shot and killed by military police. The FBI says a shooting at Naval Air Station-Corpus Christi in Texas that wounded a sailor and left the gunman dead is being investigated as "terrorism-related." (May 21) Attorney General William P. Barr and FBI Director Christopher Wray will hold a virtual press conference at the Department of Justice announcing updates in the criminal investigation of the Dec. 6, 2019, shootings at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Florida which killed three U.S. Service members and wounded eight other Americans.

ON MONDAY THE FBI AND ATTORNEY GENERAL WILLIAM BARR HELD A PRESS CONFERENCE TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE SAUDI PILOT WHO WENT ON THE SHOOTING SPREE AT THE NAVAL AIR STATION IN PENSACOLA HAD BEEN IN TOUCH WITH AN AL QAEDA LEADER IN YEMEN, WHICH THE FBI LEARNED AFTER CRACKING THE ENCRYPTION ON THE SHOOTER’S iPHONE. THE AL QAEDA IN THE ARABIAN PENINSULA LEADER IN CONTACT WITH THE SAUDI PILOT WAS ABDULLAH AL MALACHI.
