Egyptian Man Builds Awesome Models out of Matchsticks


When he's not working as a radiologist, Ahmed Hassan likes to relax by building extraordinarily complex models out of matchsticks. He's made versions of Tower Bridge and the Library of Alexandria. Ahmed was inspired to make a mini Notre Dame after the famed cathedral nearly burned to the ground in 2019. Ahmed's house is full of his matchstick creations. He says he doesn't want to sell them, but wouldn't mind putting them on display somewhere.

As the adage goes, one man's trash is another man's treasure. And that man may turn out to be a group of students in The Netherlands with an idea to help the environment while building a car that is sustainable. The students built a functioning vehicle out of pants, recycled bottles and old kitchen appliances. It can reach a top speed of 56 miles per hour.
