Doctors Debunk Herd Immunity Reportedly Favored By White House

Donald Trump's White House reportedly backs herd immunity as a plan to battle the Covid-19 pandemic. Herd immunity as a response to the U.S. coronavirus outbreak--and the Great Barrington Project which promotes it--are decried by doctors in conversation with Tiffany Cross.

Dr. Robert Wachter, chair and professor at the UCSF Department of Medicine, explains to Rachel Maddow that people with Covid-19 are infectious a day or two before they show symptoms, so according to the White House timeline that puts Mike Pence at an event with Donald Trump two days before Trump's symptoms, Pence should be quarantining to guard against exposing others.
