COVID-19: SAGE scientist warns Christmas freedoms will come at a cost
SAGE scientist Calum Semple says the idea that every day of relaxed rules over Christmas means five more days of restrictions is 'right'.
In a wide-ranging interview, he told Sophy Ridge 'prolonged personal interactions' would drive the R number up.
Prof Semple said construction workers and women working in hospitality seemed to be most a risk of catching COVID-19 at the moment.

Boris Johnson is aiming for a UK-wide relaxation of the rules, reportedly from 22 to 28 December, so that several families can join in one "bubble".
A tougher three-tiered system of local restrictions will also come into force in England when the lockdown ends on 2 December.
Mr Johnson will unveil his COVID Winter Plan to MPs on Monday.
