Chris Matthews: Trump Plays 'School Yard Nasty' In Impeachment Trial

Description:

On Trump's handling of the impeachment trial versus Democrats, Chris says the president is playing an "eight year old's game … There's a difference in tone here. The Democrats play it straight. And the president plays it schoolyard nasty." Aired on 01/31/20.

President Trump is declaring victory after being acquitted in his impeachment trial. CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett, Associated Press White House reporter Jill Colvin, and Wall Street Journal Capitol Hill reporter Siobhan Hughes joined CBSN to discuss the latest.
Democrats should be held accountable for their childish antics and dishonest efforts to hurt President Trump, says White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham.

The US Senate has found President Trump not guilty of abuse of power and the obstruction of congress in his historic impeachment trial. Donald Trump had been charged with high crimes and misdemeanours by the members of the House of Representatives but, as expected, the Republican majority in the Senate cleared him, which means he'll fight for re-election in November.

Tonight's BBC News at Ten is presented by Sophie Raworth and hears from the BBC's North America editor Jon Sopel.
