Senate Republicans and the Trump administration have reached a tentative deal on a new stimulus package aimed to combat the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic. CBS News political reporter Grace Segers joined CBSN with the latest.
EU leaders have clinched a deal on a multibillion-dollar coronavirus rescue fund, after four days and nights of intent, and often acrimonious, talks.
The recovery package will provide almost $860bn in grants and loans to counter the effects of the recession.
There had been major divisions over the ratio of grants to loans, but the gathered leaders were able to reach a deal they called "historic".
European Union leaders reached a deal on a massive stimulus plan for their coronavirus-blighted economies at a pre-dawn meeting on Tuesday after a fractious summit that went through the night and into its fifth day.
The deal will see the EU issue 750 billion euros ($860bn) of joint debt to help member states mitigate the economic downturn.

Al Jazeera's Laura Burdon-Manley reports.
