Drivers in southwestern China had to share the road with a runaway ostrich. The free bird sprinted down sidewalks, through intersections and across roundabouts. Dashcam video showed the ostrich in action, and traffic officials were able to watch surveillance footage of the errant avian on a monitor. Though they can't fly, ostriches are among the fastest land animals. They can hit speeds of over 40 miles an hour. Fortunately, no people or animals were hurt in the caper.
