Amazon tribes and indigenous peoples face struggles in fight against COVID-19


The coronavirus has spread to all corners of Brazil, including the country's indigenous tribes in the Amazon.

COVID-19 does much of its damage inside the lungs. Inflammation, impaired lung function and pneumonia often make these patients the sickest of the sick. But that's where Respiratory therapists come in to help.
In France, for example, little more than half of adults plan to get vaccinated against COVID-19, according to a recent survey.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said during a Wednesday briefing he had asked federal officials to implement testing of international travelers or allow New York to do so to prevent spread of the coronavirus. The Democrat also said the results of Tuesday's Senate runoff elections in Georgia would be good for New Yorkers in the fight against COVID-19 and in addressing the state's $15 billion budget shortfall.
