COVID-19 is now the leading killer of Americans. According to a report in Newsweek, the novel coronavirus is now the leading cause of death in America. The virus is responsible for approximately 1,970 deaths a day, more than those caused by cancer, heart disease, auto accidents or gun violence. Approximately 17,000 people in the U.S. have died from COVID-19, and nearly half a million have been infected. The worldwide death toll is approaching 100,000.
Donald Trump has denied responsibility for a reported spike in Americans drinking disinfectant, after comments that he previously made suggesting that the coronavirus might be treated by injecting disinfectant into a human body.

He later said that the comments were were a 'sarcastic' question to reporters.

The Republican governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan, warned residents that it was not ever safe to ingest disinfectant or any cleaning products within the body to fight coronavirus.
