Five former CDC directors say the agency has been sidelined in the coronavirus pandemic and that science has be co-opted by politics
The government has been accused of 'losing control' by the shadow work and pensions secretary Jonathan Reynolds.
It comes after the Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, called the new restrictions a 'Hotel California lockdown' as many are unsure of when they'll be able to leave.
